– Nelson Mandela.

A warm welcome to the PG and Research department of Physics, Arul Anandar College, Karumathur. We are glad to notify that our physics department is located in an environment friendly campus in the rural background with a team of highly experienced and motivated faculty members who are in the process of tuning the young minds to make them globally competitive. The department nurtures the principle of “uplifting the poor and downtrodden students and enlighten them towards higher education which transforms their life to the societal needs”

The department of physics is one of the eminent departments of the college which is recognized as a research center by the Madurai Kamaraj University. The department is offering Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) to the students with Outcome Based Education (OBE) pattern. Innovative methods of teaching and learning process are adopted to achieve learning abilities through practice, exposure and motivation.

Our Department has excellent infrastructural facilities and three well equipped research laboratories and a DST – FIST funded Instrumentation center which provides a conducive environment to promote academic and research excellence. Active research is going on in the current areas such as non-linear optics, photonics, solar astrophysics, thin film science, solar cells, sensors, biopolymers and nanomaterials. The faculties are having excellent record of publications with high citation index, h-index metrics and projects from different funding agencies and are life time members of leading research bodies/associations/societies.

We welcome you to the department as undergraduate or post graduate or research scholar and we hope to be part of your success and wish you to reach greater heights in near future.
