Consumer Club

Introduction


Consumer Club is established specifically for creating awareness among the students regarding the consumer’s rights and privileges. This club has been started based on the recommendation of the government of Tamil Nadu. Every year guest lectures are organized with the experts from legal, academic and social sector to create consumer awareness among the students.

History


The Consumer Club of the College is an affiliated Club to the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Government of Tamil Nadu. It was established in the year 2016. The club has evolved its own objectives in aligning to achieve the common goal of the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Vision


To enable students understand fundamental rights among the all consumer segments of a citizen and make them realize and learn the fundamental duties of a good citizen

Mission


To spread awareness on Consumer Club at rights amongst state level adjudged by the commissioner of civil supplies and consumer protection through the State Government to Government of India.

Objectives

»   1.To educate students about the rights of the consumers as provided in consumer protection Act, 1986.
»   2.To mobilize youngsters by instilling in them the spirit of protection of consumer rights
»   3.To impart knowledge about the role of consumers in protection of their rights and to strengthen the consumerism.

To conduct various programmes for creating awareness on consumer rights.

To enable the youth involve in protecting consumer rights
